House Telvadin

At a Glance

In the first years after the destruction of the Harrowing had been wrought, House Telvadin was the first to discover the incredible power invested in Moonstones found in the Clishel crater. It wasn’t long before members of the household would begin putting their knowledge to practical use, creating extraordinary devices and inventions that changed every facet of everyday life for all of the noble houses. Using this magical technology, House Telvadin propelled itself and the other houses decades into the future, securing their place in the newborn society that would become an empire. Through extensive experimentation, the house began harnessing the power of moon stones, and over the course of a century was largely responsible for the creation of the sprawling metropolis that is Valia City.

In present day, House Telvadin maintains diplomatic relationships with most of the families, confident in the unspoken fact that their inventions and magicks are a vital necessity to maintaining Valia’s way of life. Evidence of this can be seen all over Valia City, though magitek is much more prevalent in noble districts. Outside of the city and in lower districts, there is a stark contrast in ways of life where magitek is not present, where the poor and sickly struggle just to survive the harsh living conditions.

House Telvadin maintains the string of mines all around clishel crater, ensuring a steady supply of moon stones shipped into the city. Control of these mines is crucial to House Telvadin’s hold on power, and are thus heavily guarded in junction with House Valerus and House Tatius by extension. The guards and soldiers, however, rarely try to navigate into the depths of the mines, as the complex system of tunnels twist, turn and intertwine a dozen times over, deep under Valia City. The mines have a dark reputation set about them after news of numerous disappearances of slaves and even some members of House Telvadin surfaced. House Telvadin denies all claims of these disappearances, but every soldier gets an uneasy feeling in his stomach when he receives a post at the mines. The guards would speak stories of dark forces as old as the Harrowing itself that dwell deep within, that House Telvadin had found something even they couldn’t control. Any member of House Telvadin would of course dismiss these as rumors and nothing else, and yet a shroud of dark mystery clouds what really goes on beneath the depths.
